ADMISSIONS

At Queensville Montessori Academy we honour and value each child’s uniqueness and stage of development. As such, we accept and place children according to their readiness not age. Readiness at the Casa level is generally between 2.5 and 4 years of age. Readiness is determined by independence level, the ability to express needs, listening skills, and the ability to use the washroom and eat independently.

Registrations are accepted any time during the school year, provided there is space available. Starting dates during typical intake months are staggered to ensure a smooth transition for your child.

To facilitate a smooth transition, starting dates for new children are staggered over a one week period.   You will be notified of your child’s exact start date prior to the beginning of the school year.  It is the policy of the school that children are enrolled at the school based on the parent's commitment to having the child complete the "full cycle" of the program. The school is committed to a complete and authentic Montessori program: two and three day programs are not offered for sound pedagogical and child’s development reasons.

Queensville Montessori Academy accepts registrations on a first come, first served basis. However, if there is a requirement for a wait list, names will be placed on a list in the order of request and if a space becomes available, the family will be contacted. No fees are charged for being on our wait list.

Our Admissions Process

  • School Tour or Open House Visit

Prospective families are invited to schedule a tour of the school. Tours are conducted weekdays. Open houses are scheduled on select Saturdays, between 9:30 AM and noon, throughout the year.

  • Classroom Observation

We encourage parents/guardians to observe in our beautiful Montessori environments. Observations are key to fully understand the Montessori philosophy and also to witness how it would be like for your child to attend our school. Observations are for adults only and are 20-25 minutes in length.

  • Child Visit

We invite each child to experience the Children’s House (Casa) environment by scheduling a classroom visit prior to admission.

A comprehensive enrollment package, including all fees, forms and additional information on Montessori education, is provided to prospective families when they come for a tour or when they attend an Open House.

Testimonials

TESTIMONIALS

“We are so grateful to have had both of our boys attend Queensville Montessori Academy. The environment that is set up for the children is so warm, inviting and organized with so many learning activities at their fingertips. What we really appreciate is the connectedness to life skills and nature that is woven into each day for the children. They are not only learning traditional subject matter in Maria Montessori’s way, but they are learning about life - social skills, being respectful toward others, responsibility and time management. We are always amazed with what our boys are learning and absorbing at such a young age given the right environment, tools and encouragement from Lorena and her exceptional staff.

Parent involvement is also encouraged and observation time slots are offered to allow you a window of opportunity into your child’s life in the classroom.

We did not hesitate once when it came time to enroll our youngest for another year!”
