About Us

About Us

Our vision of a strong education focuses on providing a developmentally oriented curriculum based on the Montessori philosophy in a nurturing environment.

The Montessori approach to early childhood education was developed and initiated in Italy by Dr.Maria Montessori at the turn of the century.

The essence of Montessori Education is based upon three tenets:

  • Every child is treated with respect as an individual
  • Every child’s innate passion for learning is encouraged by giving them opportunities to engage in spontaneous purposeful activities.
  • Every child is encouraged to develop naturally at his own or her own pace.

Dr. Montessori observed that children blossom when they are allowed freedom in an environment that is suited to their needs, and that working with these carefully developed materials that fully engaged their interest made education a fulfilling and refreshing process for children. With this philosophy in mind, we believe that such an education will instill in our children the necessary qualities to channel their inherent abilities towards success in life, enabling them to contribute happily and productively to the world around them. Our role is to identify and develop the unique capabilities your child possesses. We strive to ensure that your child will not only achieve academic excellence, but also the social and emotional components that will transform them into highly developed, fulfilled individuals.

We look forward to developing our partnership with you, so that together, we can provide a nurturing educational experience for your child.

Our Vision

The Vision of Queensville Montessori Academy is to provide developmentally oriented activities based on the Montessori philosophy that fosters a nurturing environment within which children will feel safe, cherished and empowered. Activities that nurture the development of each child to his or her fullest potential – intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally.

Our Mission

Our mission at Queensville Montessori Academy is to:

  • Educate children for life.
  • Nurture the curiosity, creativity, and imagination in every child.
  • Develop the unique capabilities of each child, allowing him or her to take a positive, productive place in the larger community.
  • Motivate children from within by providing the perfect environment that allows their natural curiosity and love for knowledge to thrive. Our goal of education is not to merely fill the child with facts but rather to cultivate his/her own natural desire to learn.

This mission is best accomplished by:

Providing a curriculum adhering to authentic Montessori standards, informed by current thinking and research on child development and learning; embracing a diverse student community in which students experience and respect ethnic, cultural, economic differences; facilitating the involvement of parents, teachers, students and the larger community.
